Ahh so grateful for our garden in times like this,

Ahh so grateful for our garden in times like this, when I havent been feeling well.

It gave me fresh fruit when i didnt really have appetite but knew I needed something. I took note of what my body craved and liked and ate more of that. Apples were first, then mandarins and carrots.

It also gave me cool shade under the mandarins, as 27 degree days when your feeling nauseous are horrible when you don't have air con..

Was feeling so very grateful sitting with the cats listening to the birds, and munching fresh delicious juicy fruit.

As they say, let food be thy medicine 🥰

It's interesting how I always feel grateful for my health when I'm sick, like it could always be worse, BUT it could always also be better! The body is resilient and wants to heal, but imagine how much extra energy and vitality it would have if we gave it what it needed most/all of the time!

I truly believe fresh food has helped me a lot the last couple of days, and it's also been a nice perspective sitting and enjoying the garden when I have had zero energy to attend to all the jobs I see... and appreciating it as it is.... here's to enjoying the garden more as a relaxing space too !!

There's heaps of gardening jobs that are perfect for a rainy day, lucky, as we are having lots of them this year already! Grab a rainjacket and make the most of it - its most likely to boost your mood and lower cortisol, even more than reading.

According to a 2006 Austtraliam study of eldely, daily gardening was associated with a reduced risk of developing dementia. Researchers followed 2,805 men and women 60 or older for 16 years to try to identify risk factors for dementia in seniors. Over that time, the researchers found a 36% lower risk for dementia among those who gardened daily.

Heres some great jobs for rainy days:

🌱 Transplanting seedlings - when the soil is moist and plants get well watered in, it minimizes the shock for the plant.

🌱 Weeding - while soil is wet it's so much easier to remove weeds, especially deep rooted ones.

🌱 Edging/tidying - also much easier work when the grass is wet.

🌱 Any jobs in the greenhouse - sowing, potting up, planting or just relaxing and enjoying the rain as much as your outdoor plants are 🥰
